GitDesktop, compared

Comparisons against the client you may be using now. Each is verified and dated: every competitor cell checked against that vendor's own release notes and documentation, with the rows where they win counted too.

How these pages are made

Aggregator listicles routinely credit Git clients with features they don't have. These pages are built the other way around: claims come from the vendor's own release notes, documentation, and pricing pages where those exist, checked per platform when the Mac and Windows apps differ, and each page carries the date it was last verified. Rows where both clients are simply fine are left out on purpose. Spot something stale? Open an issue.

Or skip the reading.

Free, open source, and nothing to sign up for. Keep your current client installed; GitDesktop needs no migration, no account, and no seat.
